A transformer is a device that utilizes the principle of electromagnetic induction to change AC voltage, electrical equipment, and RF circuits, used for voltage boosting and impedance matching. Currently, there are over a thousand transformer manufacturers with a certain scale in China, producing transformers, reactors, voltage regulators, and their supporting components and other products.
In recent years, China’s demand for electricity has seen rapid growth, driven by the construction of high-speed networks and investment in the power transmission and transformation equipment market. The construction funds for the large power transformer industry (including transformers, reactors, and component factories) have brought both opportunities and challenges, prompting the rapid development of the transformer industry. According to the Business Intelligence Data Network, China exported one billion kVA of transformers in the first three quarters of 2011, with an annual growth rate of 13%. With the development of power grid renovation projects and the acceleration of power grid upgrades, China’s transformer production is expected to maintain rapid growth. It is projected that by 2015, China’s transformer production will exceed two billion kVA.
With the continuous deepening of China’s energy-saving policies, the country encourages the development of energy-saving, low-noise, and intelligent distribution transformers. High energy consumption distribution transformers are facing the demand for technological upgrading and replacement, and will gradually be replaced by energy-saving, material-saving, environmentally friendly, and low-noise transformers in the future. As an energy and economic amorphous alloy transformer, it has very low no-load loss, which meets the characteristics of national industrial policies and power energy-saving requirements. It is currently the most advanced energy-saving effect in China, and the use cost is also relatively economical. In addressing the noise problem, the product is widely used in urban and rural areas.
The report indicates that urban and rural power distribution networks are continuously accelerating the development of grid construction and transformation, and the transformer market demand is expected to maintain robust growth. In 2010, China’s amorphous alloy transformer market was worth approximately 1.8 billion yuan. The promotion of amorphous alloy transformers has accelerated the market scale, and the proportion of product applications has gradually increased. Over the next decade, the amorphous alloy transformer market capacity is expected to reach 10 billion yuan, with an annual market capacity exceeding 1 billion yuan, representing a huge market space.
The country will encourage the development of high-efficiency, energy-saving, low-noise, and intelligent distribution transformer products. Large enterprises with a large scale of operation and strong R&D capabilities in the same industry will face more development opportunities.
